Mrs. Knecht's Class Has Talent
I had the opportunity to spend some time this afternoon taking in a small scale Talent Show of Mrs. Knecht's students-- Wow, do they have talent! I was thoroughly impressed with all the talent and creativity that was displayed. Bravo to all who performed!
I trust that everyone will take some time to relax and enjoy some family time over the Victoria Day long weekend.
Until Tuesday,

Reading Art & Play
The pictures posted here are typical of things that happen at GES regularly-- reading, art and play.
The students reading are Mrs. Fitchell's students, the artwork that of a student in Mrs. Sali's class and the boys rolling around are from Mrs. Knecht's class.
There is always some excitement at GES. If you have time, stop by and visit your child's classroom and see some of the work that is being done.
Have a great evening.

Reading, Reading & Compositions
Different reading strategies were being used as I went to different classes this morning. Mr. Sullivan's Kindergarten students were reading a big book together, with some guided discovery, while Mrs. Sali had some of her students engaged in partner reading. Mrs. Klan's students were correcting words on the board so the passage they were reading made sense. They were doing a great job.
When I saw Mr. Angelus he pointed out the Division 4 original compositions-- these can be found on the bulletin board outside the Music Room. The students will perform these original pieces tomorrow. I hope to get an opportunity to listen to some of these.
I strongly encourage parents to talk to your children to find out what is going on in their classes daily-- it is amazing!
Until later.

Writing Biking and More
Mrs. Klan's class was busy working on reading comprehension when I visited her class today. The students were eager to show me their writing.
Mr. Detwiller took his class on a one hour bike ride today. The girls in the photo were tired, but happy about their ride.
Lastly, the primary students were enjoying a ball activity during lunch hour. The inventive games are great.
I spent some time at the SBO presenting our 2010-2011 Growth Plan today as well. I will be posting it on the website in June.
What a beautiful day! Enjoy!!!
Until tomorrow.
