Gibsons Museum becomes our classroom

Mrs. Sali had her class at the Gibsons Museum this past week. The museum staff and volunteers worked with our students to provide an excellent week of learning.

The students had a great week. Thanks to the parents that assisted walking with the class to and from the museum daily.

Grade 7 students working on their stars

The grade 7 students got their hands messy this afternoon, while working on their stars. These stars will be used in the Grade Seven Leaving Ceremony.

Thanks to parent volunteer, Shirley Waite, for helping organize this event.

Composing songs

Mr. Angelus challenged Division 4 students to compose songs, while enjoying the beautiful weather. The activity seemed to prodeuce excellent results.

Singing a Round

Mrs. McGowan was in for Mrs. Kopek's class this morning and I joined her in singing a round with the class. It was good fun.

A Mid-Summer Night's Dream

Ms. Duncan's Division 1 class is preparing for their annual Shakespeare play-- this year it will again be, A Mid-Summer Night's Dream. As you can see by the photos the students do a variety of tasks-- the set crew was busy working on parts of the set, while the actors were practicing at the other end of the gym. I look forward to their production. I will post when they will be performing.

Floor Hockey

Mrs. Fitchell's class was having a lot of fun playing floor hockey during hteir PE class today.

Hopefully the Canucks will pick it up to this level!

Jack and the Bean Stalk & Captain Hook

The beans are growing rapidly in Division 11/12 and the pirate ship is almost ready to head to sea in Division 8. There are a lot of exciting things going on at GES these days. Please take some time to visit your child's class-- you won't be disappointed.
