Parent Teacher Conferences continued again today.
It has been very busy with spring in the air.
Mr. Sullivan will be in charge tomorrow, so I want to wish everyone a great Spring Break!
Enjoy the time with your children and families.
All the best,
Mr. H
GES is a great school with a vibrant staff, active parents and engaged students. I will use this blog to share some of the exciting things that happen at GES. Please provide feedback, as we really appreciate it.

Parent Teacher Conferences Wednesday & Thursday
Today has been extremely busy for all of us here at GES. We had an early dismissal today (1:35 pm) and we have had Parent-Teacher Conferences starting at 1:45 pm. We will follow the same schedule tomorrow, while Friday is a regular day.
Just a reminder for parents-- if you are unable to make it for a conference with your child's teacher please contact them via phone or e-mail. All teachers have an SD46 e-mail address so it's pretty easy. For example, if you wanted to e-mail me you would send it to mheidebrecht@sd46.bc.ca. Please let me know if you are having any issues connecting with your child's teacher.
Have a great afternoon and evening.
Until tomorrow.

Basketball Game
Our Boys' Basketball Team played Roberts Creek in an exciting game which saw GES trailing RCE until the last 30 seconds of the game when Jordan F banked in a shot to give us a 32-31 lead. The boys defended well and the last few seconds ticked off the clock. The GES faithful left the gym with smiles. It was a well played game.
The boys will be off until after the Spring Break, as there is early dismissal Wednesday & Thursday for Parent-Teacher Interviews.
Have a good night everyone.

Choral Reading
When I stopped bt Mrs. Hoechstetter's class this morning they had just finished writing out a passage which they read to me. They did a fabulous job! Bravo!!!
Keep up the great job reading.
Speaking of reading, I presented some certificates to several kindergarten students for their reading prowess. It is awesome that so many parents are encouraging daily reading at home. Keep up the good work.
Until later.

More Art & Green Troopers
Ms. Perry had her students making Inuksuks today; similar to the symbol used for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympics. More pictures of these can been seen on the Flickr Photostream.
Two of our Green Troopers can be seen keeping our school grounds clean-- an enjoyable way to spend their lunch time.
Lastly I have included another Aboriginal Education picture, that Ms. Pugh is planning on using for a poster-- great job Austin.
We have Grade 3-5 basketball after school today, with both basketball teams having games against Roberts Creek tomorrow. The boys' play at home, while the girls travel to the Creek.
Have a great evening everyone.
