Terry Fox Day at Elphinstone Track

We had a great time doing the Terry Fox National School Run at Elphinstone
Secondary today. Our students, staff and parents did a great job with the run, as well as raising money which will be used by the Terry Fox Foundation to fight cancer.

The run started our day off really well and the rest of the day was awesome.

For your information tomorrow is a Pro-D Day. Our staff will be attending an Assessment Workshop at ESS all day Friday.

Enjoy your long weekend with your children.

Until Monday.

Meeting Day

Today is one of those days that I have to take care of paperwork and complete some important meetings.

We have had to have several Bill 33 Meetings to ensure that we comply with the legislation regarding class size and composition. I will complete these meetings later today and report the results to our School Planning Council this evening; this meeting will happen after our PAC Meeting.

For your information we will have our PAC Meeting this evening at 7:00 p.m.; it will be held in the library, instead of the staff room. Babysitting will be provided if you need to bring your child(ren) along.

I look forward to a good turnout this evening.

Until later.

The end of the day.....it's Tilley time

It has been a good day, but now it is Tilley time. It'll be a great afternoon/evening to take her for a walk in the woods.

Enjoy the awesome weather.

Until tomorrow.

Sharing some favourites

I started the day covering for our grade 4 class until our TOC showed up.

I later went into Mrs. Knecht's class and listened to some students sharing about some of their favourite things. It was great to here information about some of the things the students are passionate about.

Until Later,

Another week is upon us

What a great weekend-- the weather was outstanding and it has continued into this week.

I have been busy taking care of trying to finalize some of our staffing. Bonnie Wright has accepted a postion at Roberts Creek Elementary and will be replaced by Janet Perry; she will be working with Mrs. Kopek's class on Mondays. Ms. Annie Kranenburg will also be returning to GES as our Grade 4 teacher. Mrs. Stinson has done a great job while here and we wish her well. We will have another support teacher coming on board soon, as well as a SETA.

I know that it is difficult to go through change, but it is one of the issues that we have to accept and deal with. I trust that the new members to our staff will be welcomed with open arms.

Until tomorrow.
