GES is a great school with a vibrant staff, active parents and engaged students. I will use this blog to share some of the exciting things that happen at GES. Please provide feedback, as we really appreciate it.

Which egg will survive?
Mrs. Topping's class ventured outside to test their egg safety devices this afternoon. Some eggs survived the rigorous testing, unfortunately, many did not survive. I have included more photos on the Flickr Photostream. I am sure that you may find some amusing.
Just a reminder-- Monday is a Pro-D Day so there is no school for students.
Have a great weekend!

Jump Rope for Heart and Math Measurement
We had a Jump Rope for Heart Assembly today, with students learning some things about being heart smart, watching a DVD of some high level skippers from BC and some students had a chance to display their skipping prowess. We saw 13 of our student jumping over a skipping rope-- I believe this was a record. Next Wednesday our entire school population will have the opportunity to skip on our Jump for Heart Day (also Hoops for Heart Day).
I had a chance to visit Ms. Knecht's class later and they were working on Math measurement by using food preparation. The students were using recipes to prepare for baking and making smoothies. I missed the eating part of the lesson. (I will include more pictures on the FlickrPhotostream)
Have a great evening.
Until tomorrow.

SprocKids in Full Swing
Mr. Detwiller has started the SprocKids Program for another season. He started this program in 1990 here on the Sunshine Coast and it is now a world-wide program. It's great to have someone so knowledgeable and passionate about mountain biking in our own back yard.
Thanks for all your great work Mr. D!
