What a week. It was great to be back, but it was definitely a challenge to work through building classes and making sure that we have a reasonable operating budget for the year.
I am thankful that the staff worked so hard to ensure that we could pull it off.
Students will return to their classrooms from last week on Monday morning. After the morning announcements students will be escorted to their new classes. The hallways will be busy as students will be going to their classes so I am asking parents to clear the hallways at 9:00 a.m. so we can take care of the transition in an efficient manner. Thank you for your cooperation regarding this.
For your information we reviewed parent requests for placement and tried to ensure that students have at least one friend in their new class. If there are concerns please contact the office to make an appointment with me.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to an exciting year.
Until Monday.

GES is a great school with a vibrant staff, active parents and engaged students. I will use this blog to share some of the exciting things that happen at GES. Please provide feedback, as we really appreciate it.

Getting into the swing of things
Mrs. Fitchell had her students working with their buddies from last year in the library today. It is a great way to build confidence and it is great for the younger students to learn from older role models.
If you see a pink scooter zooming by you in the morning you'll know that it is our own Mrs. Griffiths on her way to work. She is enjoying her new toy which gets 120 km/litre.
Ms. Beeman is working hard to help me get our grade lists organized in anticipation of another class building session. We hope to have everything organized by tomorrow, but it may be Monday before students will start in their new home rooms. Students can bring their school supplies to school Monday.
What a great day of weather we are having! Enjoy it while you can.
Until later.

Glad to go back to school
Our staff and students seem to be glad to be back at school.
As you can see from the photo Mrs. Kopek played some basketball with her students this afternoon. Harlem Globetrotters watch out!
We will be continuing to work on class placements tomorrow and students may not be in their regular classes until Monday. I do apologize for the delay, but we want to make sure that we have appropriate class placements-- we are also looking at the possibility of posting another teaching position because of an increase in our numbers. Please be patient as we work through this process.
Have a good evening!
Until tomorrow.
