CONTRAST ART
Division 1 has been doing some very interesting and creative contrast art projects. I have posted one of them here, I have posted one on the GES website and I have posted them all on the Flickr Photostream to the left-- click on the icon under the pictures and you will be able to view all of the photos.
We have had a lot of internet problems today so posting has been a problem. Hopefully this will be resolved by tomorrow.
Enjoy the fantastic weather.
Until tomorrow.

Farm Photos and Fat Lawrence
I have posted some pictures of Ms. Kranenberg's class trip to the farm of one of her students-- these can be found on the Flickr Photostream on the left. There are some great pictures that parents may enjoy.
This morning I got into several classes and interacted with various students. Mrs. Klan's students were writing about what they could see through their magnify glasses, while Mrs. Sali's class was working on writing descriptive paragraphs about various items. Mrs. Sali will trry to guess what the objects are after hearing the descriptions. Lastly, I stopped by Mrs. Kopek's Guded Reading group and I asked about the story they were reading, Fat Lawrence. They shared some interesting information with me including the fact that Fat Lawrence was now on a diet of one meal a day. From what I heard he had been going to different homes and eating several meals a day.
If you child is in one of these classes, take some time to find out what the children are learning-- you'll be amazed at the things interesting that they are learning.
Until later.

Guided Reading
Our Guided Reading Program has been really successful in improving the literacy of our primary students. When I stopped by Mrs. Hourigan's classroom this morning there were two groups working with a partner and another working with Mrs. Hourigan, and another with one of our teacher volunteers, Ms. Careless. I have included a photo of part of the class.
Bravo to all teachers and volunteers who make this program a success!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
The following is the Green Troopers' Song:
We're the Green Troopers
and we're here to say
That being green
is the only way
Reduce, reuse, recycle
even when you play
Being green
is the only way
(by: Ms. Beeman, Kailyn, Sophie & Megan)
We appreciate the efforts by our students, parents, staff and school community to make GES and the Gibsons community a more environmentally friendly place to be.
Keep up the great work!

Division 6 Bulletin Board Work
When I stopped by Ms. Sali's classroom this morning I saw some photos from their field trip to the Planetarium, as well as some artwork depicting some characters from Anne Fierberg's book, Horrendo's Curse. The artwork is amazing.
Our students do a lot of creative work that is displayed throughout the school. Next time you are at GES take some time to look at some of the great work that your children do.
Until later.
