Beautiful Day on the Sunshine Coast

I had a busy day with various meetings but I did get outside for recess and lunch time supervision-- what a beautiful day.  I know that a few of our teachers left after the bell so they could get to their gardens; what a good plan.

I hope that everyone has a great late afternoon and evening.

Until tomorrow.

Rocky Mountain

Mrs. Hourigan's class was playing Rocky Mountain on their ukuleles while Mr. Angelus played his guitar.  They are playing really well!  Bravo!

Reading & Running

Ms. Kranenburg was reading "The Village of Round and Square Houses," a story about what its like in Africa. when I stopped by the Library today. The children (from Ms. Moul's class) had some great questions and observations.

Students in Mrs. Sali's class were quietly reading when I stopped by.  This group is doing a reading comprehension activity.

Running between lessons.  Mrs. Klan's class goes for runs throughout the day-- a great way to recharge the brain!

Aboriginal Education

Mrs. Pugh was introducing one of her favourite books to Ms. Taylor's class as part of our Aboriginal Education Program. The students were really engaged in the lesson while I was there.

Math Patterns and Show & Tell

Students were challenged to determine the pattern and fill in the next three numbers in Mrs. Klan's class this morning.

It was Show & Tell time in Mrs. Sullivan's class-- answering student questions.

It is quieter at GES today with Divisions 1 & 2 gone to Sechelt for the annual Sugar Bowl Soccer Tournament.

Mr. Sullivan's Class

Bridge building 101.

Another bridge.

Silent Reading.
I covered Mr. Sullivan's class for part of the afternoon so he could complete some reading assessments.  The students did some silent reading and worked on science (bridge building) while I was there today.  It was great to see the interest in both reading and science in Mr. Sullivan's class. I will post more pictures on Mr. Sullivan's Blog.

I had three meetings after school: Health & Safety, Special Ed. and Community School.  It'll be nice to drive home while it is still light out.

Until tomorrow.

Mr. H

I hope you have a great evening
