Pirate Day in Mrs. Klan's Class

Mrs. Klan had her annual Pirate Day today-- the students did a great job with their songs and readings. I heard that the treasure chest hunt was quite an ordeal. Thanks for parents and family members who attended.

Until later.

Sun for Panorama

We had the school panorama photograph re-done today. It is a beautiful day and a wonderful day to have the photo taken, with Keats Island in the distance. I am quite busy with paperwork, including ensuring that our students grades 2-7 complete the NWEA assessment. This assessment is another measure that validates how well our students are performing.

By the way, the Yearbooks arrived today. There are only a handful of them for students that did not pre-order them-- they are $16 (cash) and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.

I am sure that all of the Kindergarten students are enjoying their day at Davis Bay Beach. Thank you to all parents who helped Mrs. Griffiths and Mr. Sullivan with this.

I trust that everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

Until later.

Gardening continues

Mrs. Topping and one of the Gardening Club members spent some time after school today putting in some plants outside of their classroom. It looks great. There is one section that still needs to be turned and mulched, but I understand that this will happen next week.

Thank you so much for your efforts!

Have a great weekend everyone.

The Sun is Finally Here

With sun coming out paper airplanes were flying and soccer games continued.

The weather is cooperating with Ms. Kraneburg's field trip to Dougall Park as well.

Hopefully the good weather will continue into the next few weeks!

Until later.

Grade 6/7 Sock Hop

The Grade 6 & 7 students enjoyed their Sock Hop as well.

Thanks again to Mrs. Fitchell and her student for organizing this fund raising event. Thanks also to Mr. Sullivan for setting up the sound system.

Sock Hop Today

Some of Mrs. Fitchell's students initiated a fund raising activity for more new library books-- a Sock Hop. I have included a few photos from the 4/5 Sock Hop. A second Sock Hop for Grade 6 & 7 students will happen later this afternoon.

Volunteer Tea & Band Performance

I want to thank those volunteers for coming to the GES Volunteer Tea yesterday afternoon. It was a very nice event.

Today we had the opportunity to hear both the Grade 6 and Grade 7 Bands. They were both great. Thank you for the great job Mr. Angelus and students!

Tomorrow is our GES Sports Day. It will be a fun day with multi-grade teams working together in an atmosphere of fun and cooperation.

For your information the PAC will be providing a hot dog , water and a freezy to all students gratis. Other items will be available for purchase at a loonie or less.

Enjoy the sunshine.
